Compression: Balanced (75%)·Keep original format
Compression presets
Low starts at 90%, Balanced at 75%, and High at 50%. These are encoder settings, not guaranteed file-size reductions.
The slider sets encoder quality from 10% to 100%. It does not guarantee a smaller file. JPEG and WebP use it as lossy quality. PNG at 100% keeps all colors, and lower values use fewer colors.

If a form or page asks for a smaller file, you can compress an image toward 50KB, compress an image toward 100KB, or compress an image toward 200KB. The tool tries for that size and tells you when the result is still larger.
Supported image formats
JPG, PNG, and WebP can be compressed in your browser. Other files are rejected. The default keeps the original format.
JPG
JPG
A common format for photos. JPG does not keep transparent backgrounds.
PNG
PNG
A format for graphics and screenshots. PNG can keep transparent areas.
WebP
WebP
A format for photos and graphics that can keep transparency. A WebP file is not automatically smaller than the JPG you started with.
On one photo measured with this compressor, JPEG at 75% was smaller than WebP at 75%. That result is one file, not a rule for every picture. Read the measured comparison of JPG, PNG, and WebP.
Frequently asked questions
Short answers about compression, privacy, and the formats this tool supports.

No. Chosen images stay in this browser tab. They are not sent to a server, and they are removed when you clear them or leave the page.
Yes. Each image is compressed on its own, so one failure does not cancel the others. You can download one image or all finished images as a ZIP.
Lower JPEG and WebP settings can remove fine detail. PNG color reduction can change flat areas of color. A higher setting keeps more detail, but it may not make the smallest file.
JPG, PNG, and WebP. Each image must be 20 MB or smaller. Keep original format is the default. You can also convert to JPG, PNG, or WebP. JPEG fills transparent areas with white.
